Jenny's cake or David Herbert's Ginger Cake

  A great SMACK to Jenny (Suffolk, U.K.) for her recipe and photo ! I'm going to try it soon...   David Herbert's Ginger Cake 60g butter, cubed125g golden syrup100g plain flour25g self-raising flour1 tsp bicarbonate of soda1 heaped tsp ground ginger1/2 tsp mixed spice100g caster sugara pinch of salt125ml milk1 egg, beaten Preheat the oven to 170°C/gas mark 3.
